Bring Your Own: The state is requiring students to bring their own items to class. Although this is nothing new, students should bring their own No. 2 pencil and any other items they may need to class. This helps with cleaning and decontamination work.
Health Screening: The DNR and State of Michigan requires that a health screening be conducted prior to a student entering the classroom environment. Masks / Face Coverings: Just like everything else, students MUST wear face coverings during class times. Those who don’t will be asked to leave. If they have a medical condition which exempts them from this the parent / guardian can inform the instructor prior to the start of class. |
2021 SUMMER SAILING REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
IMPORTANT! For 2021, the Sailing Program will be following COVID-19 protocols for the safety of our sailors. We require our beginners to be at least 7 years of age and able to sail independantly. If they sign up with a sibling they could sail with that sibling. We will also be capping our classes so that we can teach kids safely in groups of 8. If you wish to add your student to the waitlist, you will be notified when the class becomes available.
We will not be offering our Dinghy Demons class this summer due to these restrictions.
SYCSP to hold level 1 in-person instructor training

SYCSP will host a US Sailing IN-PERSON Level 1 Instructor training classe in 2021. This training will be held June 19-20.
Scheduling and registration info for Level 1 classes can be found at the following link: IMPORTANT: There are several forms to fill out, preliminary steps that must be followed, and in some cases advance on-line training that must be completed in order to register for these in-person classes. MAKE SURE YOU READ EVERYTHING IN DETAIL. These IN-PERSON classes will probably fill up quickly. Sessions of the preliminary ON-LINE training required for Level 1 may also fill up quickly. |
